Kinship
version two: the first lock

The Wilds

Places to Go:

  • Campgrounds, commonly found along major roads
    Elk Crossing [The Middles]
    Run By: None
    [Use Building Permit to claim!]
One of the more comfortable camping spots in Ognos, Elk Crossing is found near the Central Crossroads and houses twelve small hunting cabins. These are not owned or maintained by anyone in particular, and travelers are welcome to stay for as long as they like provided they look after their cabin.

    Vissik's Leap [The East]
    Run By: NPC Owner
    [Use Building Permit to claim!]
Rumored to be the place the first Human ever experienced flight through the power of technology, Vissik's Leap, unfortunately, does not live up to its historic reputation. Located in the East, the campground is small, cramped, and boasts little more than a couple of holes in the ground for fires.

    Pony's Peak
    Run By: NPC Owner
    [Use Building Permit to claim!]
Pony's Peak, at first glance, doesn't have much to offer: it's just a group of small lean-tos and covered sleeping areas circling deep brick fireplaces... Until you see the ponies. Friendly wild horses live in this area and occasionally sweep through the campground, stopping by to say hi to campers. Not only are they friendly enough to accept treats and pets, they often leave behind valuable herbs and other goodies when they shake out their long manes.

    Add a Campground
In addition to the 'adoptable' campgrounds above, you can also discover them through most mini-games, or create as a business using a Building Permit. You can also submit them on the Updates board for 10b or earn 25b instead by discovering it in-character first!
  • Rest Stops, slightly more 'civilized' places to rest
    Scorpion Retreat [The North]
    Run By: NPC Owner
    [Use Building Permit to claim!]
From this rest stop to the Cinderpeak Fortress is a little under a day, making it the perfect place to stop and recharge before making the final push out of the desert. It has small shops perfect for restocking before finishing your journey, picking up trinkets and gifts for your friends back home, or getting a nice, cold drink.

    Leafy's Rest [The West]
    Run By: NPC Owner
    [Use Building Permit to claim!]
This 'rest stop' is actually mobile, an enchanted boat roaming through the major rivers in the West and picking up or dropping off visitors along the way. It is surprisingly luxurious, even offering comfortable space for you to house your livestock, and reliable; many people use them as a primary mode of transport from city to city.

    Add a Rest Stop
In addition to the 'adoptable' rest stop above, you can also discover them through most mini-games, or create as a business using a Building Permit. You can also submit them on the Updates board for 10b or earn 25b instead by discovering it in-character first!
  • Roadside Shrines, places of power
    Ore's Well [The East]
This sacred place is eerie and dark, located deep in the forests of the East. An ancient, crumbling stone well stands in the center of a perfectly circle clearing where no plants grow and no animals wander. This is a safe space to camp - not even predators dare cross the treeline - but your night is likely to be long and filled with nightmares. It's said if you cast something into the well, 'Ore' will grant your wish - but no one is exactly sure who, or what, Ore is...

    Forgotten Shrine [The West]
This small shrine is located deep in a Western lake, where it gives off a forlorn white-blue glow. Visiting this Shrine grants you the temporary ability to breathe water and leaving a suitable offering greatly expands the time you retain the ability, the only trouble is surviving long enough to get there in the first place!

    Add a Shrine
Shrines can be discovered during most mini-games but especially during explorations and petitioning a deity. You can also submit them on the Updates board for 10b or earn 25b instead by discovering it in-character first!
  • Valka Hubs, neutral meeting places for Clans
Hildy's Pub [The East -- usually...]
Run By: NPC Owner, Hildy Lockheart (adoptable)
A bustling, lively pub in the middle of nowhere - literally, you only find it deep in the forest and it's never in the same place twice, but it always appears when you need it the most. Hildy, the owner of this peculiar business, is a stern, no-nonsense wolf shifter with a maternal nature.

    Add a Hub
Hubs can be discovered during most mini-games or created as a business using a Building Permit. You can also submit them on the Updates board for 10b or earn 25b instead by discovering it in-character first!
  • Valka Settlements found in all territories

    Add Your Character!
Add your character to any location by posting on Updates!
  • Encounter, or avoid, dangers on the road.
    The Blight [All Territories]
Areas, animals, plants, Ognoshu, or Bonded that have contracted Blight. This can be caused by any number of factors, including severe (life-threatening) illness or injury sustained in infected locations; magical manipulation; and an imbalance in the environment. It progresses through several stages and can cause mutations, severe aggression, and loss of 'human' qualities such as higher thinking, producing a zombie-like effect.

    The Collector [The East]
Duke Drago Vorhees is better known as The Collector, a man who collects and keeps beasts with rare forms, colors, or patterns. When he uses his Collector persona, he is dressed similar to the style of a plague doctor, completely covered and hidden from view. He will sometimes go and collect the pets for himself, but he is also open to paying people for bringing him rare beasts. Very few, know that Duke Drago is the mysterious collector, but those who do tend to just sweep it under the rug. He keeps his prizes locked away in a special “zoo” that he can visit whenever he pleases. He keeps them fed and healthy, but many tend to lose their minds due to being kept in a cage and locked away from the outside world. If a beast passes away while shifted under his care, he has been known to treat them as a taxidermy project, turning them into trophies.

    Hunters [All Territories]
A threat to Sanguinists both good and bad, some Hunters can also cause plenty of trouble for humans and Valka alike. Keep your head down and your fangs hidden, lest you be subjected to their brutal vampirism tests.

    Knight Denizens [The West]
A highly trained, militaristic group that often raids smaller villages for food, supplies, and new recruits.

    Sanguinist Packs [All Territories]
Dangerous groups of rogue Sanguinists now stalk the perpetual night. There is safety in numbers and Guardians are currently recommending you travel in at least pairs, but the bigger groups the better.

    Discover New Dangers!
Dangers can be discovered during most mini-games; you can also submit them on the Updates board for 10b or earn 25b instead by discovering them in-character first!
  • Participate in a board-wide event.
    Shard Collection
Requested By: Valka Leaders (All Major Cities)
The leaders of some of the largest Clans in Ognos have put out the word, even allowing it to spread among humans: they want shards. Like, a lot of them. These multicolored magical objects are most often found in the deepest, wildest parts of Ognos, protected by puzzles, obstacles, enemies, or all three. So why would you risk life and limb for Valka leaders and shiny shards? Allow them to study your shard and they'll share the special rewards inside with you!
Limitations: Characters can take this request on as many times as they want, but the word count requirement increases by 100 each time.
    Starting Word Requirement: 300
    Rewards:
    • Mention Request ICly: +10b per post
    • Work on Request: +50b per 100 words
    • Discover Shard: Randomized shard of any color (post on Updates to claim)
    • Turn In Shard: Random or Custom Reward (depending on Shard Color)
  • Check out local landmarks & attractions, or discover new ones!
  • Most Mini-Games take place in the Wilds!

If your post is set in a specific territory please indicate this somewhere in the subject.
